Although I would typically organize my thoughts about a group of chapters by discussing them one at a time in paragraphs, I analyzed in more of a themetic way as I read Chapters 5-10.
I typed out a list of phrases I found interesting or important. Then I organized them on my classroom SmartBoard during specials. I saved them, and as I came back to the lists and moved and categorized and processed and moved these ideas again, I came up with the following organization. This isn't an exhaustive list, but it shows how I interacted with the text this week.
Teacher Goals:
ritualistic
eachdayness
junior-high-type, fifty-minute-a-day schedule
negotiated... gotten rid... give over

Teacher Hurdles:
